How do I add an image to my blogger account?

I would like to add an image to my blogger account but every time I attempt it the image does not fill the whole page. I don't want to repeat the image just have it take up the entire page. Does anyone have simple instructions, or a web site that details this? I want the image to extend out to the edges so that you cant see any white area and the darkest part of the image takes up the middle of the screen.
