Default Why is a tax-exempt "religion" like Scientology allowed to use Google AdWords?

Scientology declares itself a "religion" and is tax-exempt. Google AdWords has a rule that you cannot advertise for a religion, as stated at this link. I'm curious as to why Google continues to accept Scientology as a customer...? I heard that they have been allowing advertising for some other religions too...Sorry...the AdWords rule is here:http://adwords.google.com/support/bi...n&answer=98221

The question really should be: why is Scientology allowed to be a "religion" (and have a tax-exempt status)? Is there no limit to the ridiculous?

Google are crackheads. Get NoScript for Firefox, and you won't have to see their ads.

religions are tax-free, not income free.

Maybe the real question should be why do we allow a special tax-exemption for worshipping something make believe. All "religions" should have to pay taxes like all businesses have to.
