Default Good graphics card for my system?

My nvidia geforce 7300le recently caused problems for my pc so now i am looking for an alternative for around 80usd or less.I am using an athlon 64 x2 dual core 3800+ 2.0ghzI heard that different cards have different requirements but i don't really know what that means. All i need is something with the same performance or higher as the 7300 le, i don't play games much but i sometimes touch up high quality scans on photoshop...80usd or less..any other brand out there other than nvidia?how do i know about my motherboard power supply?

You can get an 8500GT for < 70usd. It will definitely perform better than your current card. For a few $$$ more you can get the 8600GT. Usually between 80-90usd.

For 80 dollars, your choices will limit you to the likes of nvidia 7600-8600 class. But before you make any purchases, make sure that your Motherboard will support it. Was your old card an AGP or PCI-E interface card? Unless you are also upgrading your motherboard, make sure you get this right. Making sure you get the right card interface is only the first part. The second will be making sure you have the "muscle" to run it. Do you know what your power supply churns out? Make sure you research on the power requirements. Some newer the cards draw less power because it is using a newer chip while others draws more because it is intended for performance. If you are in CA, you might want to check out Fry's for discounts.
