Short answer: get the 9600gso for sure.A 512MB 9500gt is about as fast as a 8600gts. Usually, taking a 512MB card and turning it into a 1GB card doesn't help performance except maybe at extremely high resolutions. It's pretty much a marketing gimmick --- putting lipstick on a pig.The 9600gso is a good budget card --- much much better than a 8600gts. Adding extra memory to the 384MB it usually comes with helps in this case.
