Why is the Graphics on the WII so bad?

Before I get rude replies I OWN a WII and a PS2 - haven't played the xbox or ps3 much.Just wanted to know why the graphics on WII games never seem that great!? Some of my PS2 games look awesome and thats an 8 year old console!I know it's aimed at a younger market and playability (which I like), just wondered why the cr@p graphics? Often reviewers compare it to GameCube graphics. Is the WII a low spec console with fancy controllers at the end of the day? Interested in your replies.On a similar note, why WII games have the best graphics in your opinion?

youre rite i own a wii as welland it dosnt have the best graphics and it does fancy controllers.i dont think nintendo worries about graphics.people are still buying and playing.

the wii is just a fun console and is made so that it can be a fun 30 mins- 1 hour so no need to go high spec, keeping the price low getting a foot hold in thier target market

The Wii IS a cool console. Your thing about "CR@P" graphics, some games have awesome graphics such as: Wii Sports, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, and Carnival Games.

As a wii owner, I don't really care about the graphics. I care about having fun and playing my old classic games. Hope this helps.
