Default What kind of inexpensive gift could I bring to a brunch hosted by someone who...

...just had new kitchen installed? ? I don't know what the kitchen looks like, but I'm on a budget and need to bring a gift to an informal, potluck brunch. What might be an appropriate gift to bring?

My favorite kitchen tool is a timer shaped like a lemon. Since I tend to wander away from my cooking chores and lose myself in some other project, my lemon timer has saved me from many a disaster.

If you have a Big Lots or Old Time Pottery around- I would buy a platter- they have the plain white or ecru and all different shape and sizes- they are mutil purpose and I know for myself- I will never have enough

maybe a holiday kitchen towel set? or a pretty potted herb? Or your favorite brownie or cookie recipe layered in a quart jar with direction. or a tin of cookies for your host to keep.

Get a neat bowl to put your food in and then leave it. You can find nice dishes on any clearance rack and if you get a clear one it won't matter. I could never have too many of those dip platters. You know the ones with the little bowl in the middle.

If you have a favorite recipe, such as a cookie recipe or casserole recipe, buy all of the ingredients and write down a nice, clear, easy to read copy of the recipe. If you have enough money, buy the pan or cooking utensil she would need to cook the recipe.
