Default Do conservative talk show hosts like Rush, Bill-O, Hannity, and Savage

affect the political spectrum?

Yeah, I think somewhat. Then again, the people that listen to them are often already going to vote conservative anyway. Within the conservatives though, I'm sure they can be a larger factor in influencing the spectrum.

They are all garbage trucks. Both sides of the arena.

Yes they do, you probably don't know the number of older people that listen to AM talk radio. AM, what's that? The same people don't use the net much, and don't learn stuff for themselves. I'm generalizing, but it's from what I see/hear around me.And then you have people on the left like the other answerer said (Olberman, Colbert/Stewart). They are all gatekeepers, talking about just the things they want/can talk about, and almost nothing more.

I don't know, I listen to all of them, but also try to catch Hardball w/ Chris Matthews, news on CNN, MSNBC and Fox. I form my own opinions, I can't say that one influences me more than another. People have to be intelligent about what they are seeing, hearing and reading, take it all in and process it before you jump to conclusions.

Affect or effect? I always get those two confused.

I never listen to pundits from either side. They are after all just entertainers.

All "talking head" media types affect the political landscape. The conservative radio talk show guys affect it just as much as the liberal bloggers and the network news shows. If you are going to look at Rush, et al then you also have to look at Rather, et al. The truth is the truth regardless which side of the political fence you stand on. The sad side to the whole picture is that we, the American People, have to filter through the BS that these guys put out and decide what the truth is.
