. html is a file that opens in http://my.opera.com/community/opera/. Beware, some links may be infected, make sure the person that's sending it is trustworthy.

To Apple computers, the extension doesn't mean much. I can name a file .jpg and it will open with the correct application because the file id is in the first few bytes of the file. On a windows box, the extension identifies with which application the file is to be opened.If you think it is an html file, rename it to have the extension ".html". Internet explorer should open it then.It could be an Apple Web Archive file which you can not open on a windows box. Web archives are made by using SAVE AS Web archive while in Safari (Apple's Web Browser). Even installing Safari on the PC won't allow you to read the Apple web archive. If that is case, contact the Mac user and ask them to not save as a web archive and just copy the link so you can click on it.
