Just choose save as when you go to save it and there should be a drop down menu that you can choose which file format to save it as. Usually there is a backward compatible one, which would be .doc in your case.

Click that top left windows button and go to the part that says "SAVE AS"In the menu that appears you'll see one that says Microsoft 97-2003 Document, that's the one you want to use.

Open up your resume.Click on the circular, glowing symbol thing in the upper left corner.Hover the mouse over the option that lets you save and a menu should open up.Click on the option that lets you save in earlier version of Microsoft Word. This newer version takes some getting used to.
