Should I purchase Microsoft Word on eBay or are they all copies and fake?

I want to get the Microsoft Office Word Home and Student software...in stores it is around $200 and on eBay I see that some are being sold for around $100.

Be careful, read feedback and ask questions if needed. The feedback system on eBay tells it all. Read the description carefully too. I get my Norton virus discs each year for a little over $15 and they are over $30 in the store.

they're all copies and fake. you can get the student version for around the same price on amazon or you can get open office which is almost as good in most respects and better in many respects, and free.

I would be very careful purchasing it on Ebay. Microsoft follows those license numbers very carefully. It must be an unused copy. Personally I wouldn't purchase, but as long as it was a reputable source then there shouldn't be a problem.

Someone could be selling there old version, in which case it would not be fake. I would buy it new, personally, just to be sure, but if it is a fake you can always complain to the seller!!

its not worth getting office on ebay - to much chance of a fake or a scam. if its just word you wand and if you want it cheap then why not get open office - its free and its just as good as word.PS. dont torrent word. microsoft will pick up on a hacked version and torrents are prone to contain a lot of viruses. only torrent it if you absolutely have to.

Chances are it is probably already activated. But if you stumble upon one that isn't then by all means buy it. Also try and contact the person or company selling it to see if it is legit. and if you buy a illegitimate copy contact eBay and Microsoft saying you bought a pirated copy and who your buyer was, if you used pay pal then also contact them about their buyer protection. and check around with other online retailers to see their prices as well.
