XP or Vista. But XP is better in most cases - Because Vista is still new and doesn't quite function as well and fast on slower computers as XP does. And XP is cheaper and pretty much works perfectly.

Depends on the user. At this point I would say the majority is XP Pro or Home. What is going to vary is the Service packs that are attributed to the OS. Most likely you are going to encounter XP/2000 NTFS. MicroSoft Tried to phase out 2000, but found that it was one of their better OS. Vista is still new as far as computers go. You now have to order XP specially from a computer company, other wise your going to get Vista.
