Default A Mac or Microsoft computer?

I'm planning on buying a new computer. My friends told me that Mac is good for the high tech advances, but Microsoft is good for business appliances. I just want it for home leisure and entertainment and ocasionally homework. If you choose a Mac, please explain why and vice versa with the Microsoft computers

Mac. Leisure and entertainment is standard with the new Macs. Whether it be photos to video, to internet, all easy to do, and it all looks great. It has almost all of the same programs that Microsoft has now, it is no longer an inferior system. Along with Mac comes a completely stable OS (operating system) unlike the new Windows Vista, which has had many complications, and not very user friendly. All of this is from personal experience and is from a person who as of 4 years ago swore I would never use a Mac, and now I'm all for them.

Macs are more money for less computer. For the same price of any given Mac computer, I can buy a (usually much) more powerful PC.However, Macs are very easy to use and maintain.Insofar as anything else, there is much to argue about the software available for either platform, but if by "entertainment" you mean "video games", buy a PC. True, a Mac can dual-boot Windows, but that means rebooting into a different OS every time you want to play a game, or go from playing a game to checking your e-mail.If saving money is a priority, buy a Microsoft machine. If ease of use is an absolute must, and you don't mind a very limited software selection, look into a Mac.
