Default Send error report to Microsoft?

About two or three times every day I get a message saying there is an error with Internet Explorer and it needs to shut down. Then I'm asked if I want to send an error report to Microsoft- I usually send it. I was wondering, what good does that actually do? Does anyone really "read" all those error reports? How can it help me and my annoying computer problems?

Good question, I often wonder that as well. Guess I'm gonna stick around and see what the people say.

It does, because one time I submitted a error report and Internet Explorer opened to a page that had a patch to fix the error.

People actually do read the error reports. They get sent to Microsoft and put into a database. The reports that they get most often get the highest priority. If it's something they can fix and not related to a third party app, they can produce a patch. So eventually it can pay off for you.

I get those sometimes also. I have no idea of what they mean. Sometimes I send them to Microsoft and sometimes I don't. I can't imagine that someone sits down and reads all of them. Maybe it helps weed out the bugs in the system. (?)

No, microsoft just programmed that to come up to make people feel better, and for their customers to believe that they are doing something to sort it out! plus if you are having errors all the time, make sure you have the latest updates downloaded from microsoft/windows upate. are you running interenet explorer 6 or 7?

if we do something undesired, the os detects the error and generates a code corresponding to that error. so it asks the user for permission to submit a report to Microsoft.Their team may take suitable actions and this helps them to improve their OS...if ur OS is not genuine ,their is no use of doing it............OS-operating system
