you could try the free trial on the website but that only lasts about 30 days but after that you can still use it for a while until it locks you out of your documents.

Ok. First of all, Microsoft Word is not free, it comes with a package that you buy called Microsoft Office. However, OpenOffice is free, and it is totally compatible with Microsoft Office. It has a program that is basically the same as word, and it also has all the other goodies like Excel and Powerpoint. Go to www.openoffice.org to download it. It's spyware-free. Anything you save can be saved as a Microsoft word file and it will open with microsoft word anywhere else. You can also read word files with it. It's completely the same thing with a different name.

The only free copy of Microsoft Word you are likely to find will be a pirated copy.Try the free OpenOffice - http://www.openoffice.org/It's called writer in openoffice & it's better than word in many ways & it's free.I've been using it for about 6 months & it works fine. I think a lot of company's are starting to switch to OpenOffice to save on licence fees

Microsoft Word comes along with Microsoft Office Suite. Its quite expensive and not downloadable (at least from Microsoft). You can buy it online or download a possibly virus infected file from some pirate website. If you looking for alternatives, try AbiWord (free, Word processor only, fast), OpenOffice (free, full-suite), IBM Symphony (derivative of OpenOffice, free). Lotus SmartSuite and Corel WordPerfect office are other low cost alternatives.

it is true that you can't (legaly) download a full version of windows microsoft word but there is at leas one alternative Openoffice.org witch for us poor people is a godsend it is almost exactly the same as word other than the way it saves but you can save in many formats, you will have to experiment on how to save in the right microsoft word format given. i am always forgetting. to download it (you better have a good interned downloading speed ) go here.http://www.download.com/OpenOffice-o...html?tag=lst-1

You cannot get Microsoft Word for free, if you want to pirate it then you need look no further then a google search. On the other hand if you need to view a couple of document quickly then you can install the Microsoft Word Viewer which you can find in my sources. If you need a word processor I would suggest checking out Open Office, its not as fast as Microsoft Office but it has comparable functionality and it can save in the same formats (.doc for word) to retain compatability with Microsoft Office. On top of this its free to download!
