Default 97 chevy half ton truck a/c problem, the low pressure line is freezing up.?

I have completed the circuit at the low pressure switch. It takes it a few minutes to freeze up, and i can turn off the a/c and let it thaw out before repeating the process. Does anyone know what the problem is?

yes, people are not supposed to service their A/C systems. To have it properly done, take it to a shop.

Moisture in the air and Condensate and many other factors ....however it is normal for the low side to build frost onthe lines and be extremely cold to the touch....you did not mention if your a/c is working properly in the cab.....the best way to deal with it is to completely purge the system... then evacuate the system for at least 20 to 30 minutes (remove moisture and dry out desicant) and the add the proper charge to the system.... it requires a certain amount, i.e. so many ounces of R-134A freon to properly charge the system

You may have got a little liquid freon in the system. If, during servicing, the can should be turned upside down, then liquid will be sucked in instead of gas and it will cause all sorts of problems with the system
