Based on the emails and response you received and it's also matter of researching the number of searches done, which isn't totally accurate, but it can give *relative* numbers, and then checking how many pages are returned for the search at Google (and now, Yahoo). Beyond that, one of the most telling is to look and see who the competition is. If there aren't very many SEO'd sites it generally isn't as difficult to compete as in areas where it's obvious that sites have had "professional" optimization done or are using aggressive techniques.

A word or words used by a searcher on a search engine. In SEO, keywords are the words that a website is optimised to rank for and in PPC, keywords are bid on by advertisers. In Online Reputation Management, a keyword is a term that is used when searching the Internet for mentions. You can determine if the keyword your using is competitive,if your site improves its link popularity.Fresh content is key. Writing fresh and quality content regularly will keep your visitors coming back, and when spiders notice you update regularly they will visit your site more. Your content must be of value to human visitors as that is what search engines are constantly looking for.
