Where can i find a script for developing a Web Directory?

I am working on a website which requires me to develop a Web Directory like Yahoo! Directory or DMOZ - Open Direcotory. I prefer to have it in the open source - "PHP will be better"thanks in advance

phplinkdirectory is one of the best directory script. It is highly customisable. They have got a very good user base and also a nice support forum. http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/
