How do I set up a subdomain or directory extension? e.g. www.web.com/testing?

Currently using godaddy and I have no clue whatsoever as to how I setup an 'extension' of the current website e.g. web.com/anythinghere. Please help!!'Just make a new directory. It is as simple as that. ' - how do I do that?? (bear in mind I'm a complete 'noob' when it comes to this stuff)

FTP to your website with the info godady gave you, create a new folder name : "anythinghere" then go to http://web.com/anythinghereSimple ?
