A really good way to get traffic is to submit articles to article directories, a couple of good ones are ezine articles and goarticles. All you do is write some articles about solar products and how they can benefit people and then put a link to your website in your bio box. These are a good way to get free traffic. If you have an advertising budget you could try Google Adwords.

Link exchanges with similer sites / directories / popular websites will see your site indexed quicker with search engines.

Also, submit sitemaps to google and yahoo, and consider using Google Adwords for a while to build up some traffic and possible early sales.

Also, maybe worth an account with Froogle (now Google Base products) to list your products to folk searching for your goods on there.

Make sure your pages are search engine friendly with good descriptions for the engines to see, and then you will gain sales via keyword search.

All the above, except Google adwords cost per click, are free, but a little time consuming.. but you should see traffic by it.

Be wary of the "get number 1 in google for £/$" sites or companies.

Does your website have a name, yet?Have you chosen which keywords to optimize your site for?Use your keywords in your website url if possible.Use your keywords in your web page titles, description and content. One great way is to write an article on solar products. Use your keywords in the title of your article and in the body, too. Then submit your article to an article directory, like iSnare or GoArticles(there are so many) and put your website url in the 'About the Author' section. Another method is to submit your website to directories. You can do this yourself, or pay a service to manually submit for you. The last time I used a sevice, it cost 27.00 for 100 directory submissions. Being listed in directories will give you inbound links, which you want-preferrably from directories with a higher PR.Ask related, but not competing, websites to link to your site. Inbound links from reputable sites are "key".Hope this helps a little. Good luck
