Can I advertise my website in Advertising and Marketing?

I know advertising is supposed to be against the rules ,but this section is called "advertising and marketing". So does that mean I can advertise my art gallery ,rebeccawgallery.com?

Looks like you did...in a way, in that you put your web site in your question. That is a form of advertising. Now, to help you with that, if you're going to do that in the future do it correctly so that it creates a link back to you. In order to get your site ranked in any major search engine one thing that is critical would be links back to your site. Here's an example: http://www.chuckgallagher.com - there is a better chance that this format will create a link and improve your ranking...hence advertising awareness. Also, find blogs that are related to what you do and respond to them always sharing the link to your site. It can provide some amazing results.
